Hey guys i have 6 trout left in my AP iv had them for 2 years now and wanted to get some new fish. I would like to let them grow alittel bigger though. Only i dont thing fingelings will do well together with the bigger trout  .I also have a large koi pond but i dont think koi and trout mix? Seeing that trout arent exacty free i could keep them one more year to fatten up only i think 6 fish is a little few for a IBC system with two growbeds... Any suggestions? |

Do you have a nitrate / ammonia reading if so your plants will be fine I had 10 trout when I first started on three growbeds and always had persistent ammonia they were eating heaps You could rig up a temporary tank hooked into system for the little fish |

I carried a trout through summer, +300mm, and added 100mm fingerlings to the tank in winter and she jumped out of her skin for joy having some friends in the tank. She actually jumped out of the tank..... Found her in time and plopped her back and all was good through winter. I know she was a she as she got egg bound and was troubled come the end of winter. I like the larger trout as they are easier to pin bone. |

Now i expect it to be around 10 (ill test it again this weekend) For my values its still winter here and iv recently dubbeld my growbed so im sure my system can handel the extra fish. But making a second tank sounds like a good idea till my old trout have been roated. |

Hiya Njord, my point was that I mixed different aged trout and there were no issues. |
