They are an endangered species, I think it would be illegal to keep them. The people who run the site have done some spawning of the trout cod for restocking and research purposes. |

Himzol, you sparked my interest in other cod species, everything I have found says that trout cod, eastern freshwater cod and mary river cod are threatened or endangered, most info re suppliers is all govt/DPI/fisheries and leans towards stocking and research to save the species. Narrandera Fisheries Research Centre was one I found on the trout cod, they appear to handle cooler temps OK. There appears to be a private supplier of mary river cod fingerlings in QLD but had no website, not much help I know cod fish |

I think this is one that I will try and do more research on to see if it's possible to get some in the future. The cold water handling capabilities is what caught my attention as well. I guess it may be something to look at if the Golden Perch don't work out. H. |
