Hey Guys.

Ive a 1000ltr fish tank for my AP system and currently using Flood and Drain, just wondering if you guys use any additional aeration when using flood and drain or if this should be sufficient for the trout.

I am pretty sure it is set for 15 mins on, 30 or 40 off

Have you got enough capacity left on the pump to split the outflow?

Lets say with a 1500 lph pump you can have 1000 going up to the bed and 500 back to the fish tank with a venturi.

You will only need a T joint, reducer, smaller pipes than what you have now and a venturi.

But if the fish are fine, than you have enough oxigen already.

Depending on how heavily stocked you are - if your water pump fails for any reason, your trout will die, particularly in warmer weather. An air pump is well worth installing, and having it powered independently of the mains to cover blackouts is best. I'd never consider running trout without an air pump.
