I had a couple of emails from Andrew at Aquaculture-advantage. He's going to have golden perch available soon and lots of them, as well as a few other species: GPs are a plenty but cod are limited and I will need firm orders before 1st week Feb. No worries, It's nice to know though as my son was asking on behalf of a friend as to where I got the GPs. So I may still be able to send some business Andrews way. 
I also have friends at Uraidla who have a dam on their property, they may also be interested. I'll pass the word around and hopefully get some business heading their way, as well as Monya's. Himzo. |

Andrew emailed me again this week and has also got some jade perch larvae running at the moment and says he could off-load a few to forum members late March/April. Golden Perch and others still available. His fish will be certified clean by a vet to avoid potential problems such as Monya faced. |

As will any fish that ever get brought into or moved around SA by a reputable supplier. Anyone holding an aquaculture license must have the fish tested before bringing them into the state or even onto their farm from another hatchery. The testing must be done within 14 days of the movement of the fish. |

Subtle as an axe KE. I would be interested to hear how anyone giving jades a go down here, does with them. Surely they would need supplemental heating during winter to survive, let alone grow. With the Barcoo River (home of jades) busting its banks a couple weeks ago, I wonder will wild populations of jades establish themselves further south than in the past? |

IMHO supplementary heating will definately be required for Jades in SA |

Considering how old the continent is, surely this sort of event would have happened in the past, so I suspect that a breeding colony won't establish it self otherwise they would already be in the Murray-Darling system etc.. They may well be interesting as a summer grow out down here if you could get them around late October. H. |
