now that my first system is running OK is now a good time to buy silver perch in and if so where from around Adelaide?
and transport could be a problem, its either 8 hour road trip or get them on aircraft for 1 hour flight.
There is a pet shop that sells fish and can get them for me, can't remember their prices but was shocked when they told me a couple of months ago so there must e a way.

or do I put something like commets or goldfish but they dont produce enough 'crap' to sustain a system ...is that correct?

Goldfish work great in an AP system, they poop up a storm. Depends on what you want out of it, you can't really eat goldfish, well you can, but they are boney, and too cute to eat.

For edible fish in Adelaide, there isn't many options, there's 1Aquaponics in two wells, he has good fish/fingerlings, but is very expensive, especially if you don't order over his minimum amounts.

I'd recommend Narrabri fish farm.

They have great prices, and great service, and can throw them on a truck which you can meet up with, and the postage is pretty good.
