First time breeding them. How long should I wait before removing her?

..
I used to breed african cichlids.. As soon as I found one with a gob-full, I would catch her and empty the eggs into a tumbler..
The tumble was just a soda bottle with a small aquarium pump, pushing a slow stream of water through the bottle mouth..
This kept the eggs "tumbling" in suspension, and I got HUNDREDS of babies and near no losses..
..

PS - the benefit is that you dont have to run the risk of either her dropping them when you are out, or stress her too much, should they hatch and she spits them out and they get eaten..

Are there drawbacks to just putting her in a different tank by herself? On day 2 of noticing the eggs?

Thanks

I have only had my system going since June 4th of 2014 and this week I have 'harvested ' the 3rd set of babies. When i see babies (1/4"long) i scoop them off the surface and put them in a small 2 gallon aquirium inside the house. When they are 1.5-2" long they go into a 250 litre tank outside (we live in Baja) then @ about 3" they go into a 600litre tank and then above 5" into a 750 litre tank. I started with 48 fish that were 1-2" long and now have 15 over 6" long and 30 in the 3-5" range and about 60 in the 1.5-2" size with 30 recently harvested babies
@ 1/4".

1. @ what size do most people harvest the talapia fillets?

2. Does my methodology sound
OK to those in the know?

3. Is a flush of some sort required before harvesting meat to avoid strange flavors?

1 lb or bigger for harvest. Most people purge for a few days in clear water with no food. I'm still waiting for my first batch of the Summer.
