Post subject:  Koi in New System- Need Help With a Couple Questions

Hi All-

1. I just introduced Koi to my system am concerned about temperature fluctuations. During the day my water temperature is around 75 degrees F and then drops to 65 at night. Will a 10 degree drop in temperature stress the Koi? If, so I'll try to figure out a way to get some heaters in the tank.

2. I bought some top-fin sea salt at the store. On the bin it says "Do not use with fish being raised for human consumption". I'm not raising these Koi in order to eat them, but I am concerned about the possible affect the salt could have on my plants-which I do plant to consume. Does anyone have any information on this?

Thanks for any and all help! Please also feel free to share any good tips for newbie fish-care in AP.

My koi are in a tiny pond which could easy swing 10c! They are basically the M1A1 Abrams of fish. They will stop moving and eating much below 12c but they seem happy enough at 20c
