i vaguely remmeber a discussion on keeping mixed species, and the concensus was as long as they were roughly the same size and not hunters, they would be ok?
I've ordered a test kit and i'm going to increase my stocking density (currently 5 small goldies in 200L) but i want to start on perch, which i can eat.

Most peoples experience seems to be that with silvers and jades there is no problem even with major disparity in size. I have goldies in my tank with 35cm jades.

as long as the perch are fed well, the goldies should be safe

Goldens are carnivores. I expect the reason we get away with it with silvers and jades is that they are les agressive to other fish, being omnivores.

hmm,

well at some point i do what to put in fish i can eat, i love reddys and yella's (golden perch) so i guess the goldies will have to become part of the food chain :)

:) I'm going to give reddies a go at some point, but both the goldens and the reds are notoriously hard to feed on pellet food ive heard.
