Are you human?: some would say not

I'm new to aquaponics and its probably been asked before but.....

I see murray cod on one of the fish suppliers websites from the east, they seem quite happy to send MC west (even put a quarantine surcharge for WA into the billing function). Has anyone tried MC lately, are they allowed over here?

I would be keen to try some as a winter fish but will do trout first as I'm not sure how cold my tanks will get over winter.

I'm not in WA, but put some tiny MC in 6 weeks ago. They are more a summer fish than a winter fish in my climate, but will probably take a whole year to grow to size. I plan on heating the water in winter to keep them growing, as I understand a good temperature range to keep them eating is 18-28C. I lost quite a lot in the first month due to them not being pellet trained as they were claimed to be, but all seems good now, although the Blood Worms they devour are quite expensive. They will sometimes eat my beef heart+green prawns+crushed pellets+Blood Worm mix, but I often have to scoop it out when they don't touch it.
