Hi everybody, just started my AP system over Christmas so will do a proper introduction soon later (with photos). I am picking up 10 x 20cm JP soon and already have 13 x 5-10cm SP. I think at similar sizes this wouldn't be an issue but has anyone had success with JP getting along with other fish this small in the same ibc tank? Thanks for any advice. |

My tank is 2200 litres and I have 71 Jade and 25 Silvers plus 1 eel tail catfish. Jades have been in for just over a year for the first 21 and 10 months for the other 50. Silvers have been in for 9 months. Biggest Jade is 850 grams and silvers still small at about 125 mm in length. Have had no problems so far. |

I have kept JP and SP together with no problem other than the JP's beating the SP to the food, JP's have one heck of an apatite, wish I could still get them here. |

I'm a little sad now, thought you meant Jungle Perch and thought someone was marketing fingerlings. |

Sorry for getting your hopes up bodgy. The one on gumtree must be quite the specimen for that price! |

All good Smikey, it's too cold here to run them in AP so they aren't even an option. Would have been great news if they were available but only for the same reason it's great that Ferrari's are available. I'm not in the market for either, but knowing that I could if I REALLY wanted to is enough for me. Doubt they'd even be particularly suited to AP, but the wow factor would be large. Apologies for going off topic on your thread btw. |

hey Smikey just like CC Bear I have Jades and silvers together and have done plenty of times before, never had a problem other than Like Grunter found the jades hit the food first. I normally take note of them feeding and as the Jades start to slow down I drop a bit more food in and the silvers get a decent go at it |

Hey bodgy no worries, completely understand the Ferrari analogy! I didn't even know jungle perch existed until a few days ago. Next time I might just type jades instead of jp. Hey freddie, great! Looks like a perch party this weekend after a very careful drive back home if all goes well. Thanks all for input and look forward to share my system soon. |

How did you go getting them home and settled in? |

Hey Happyfarmernt! Really happy with the Jade Perch! They are in great shape and were good fun to catch. On the drive back they were so quiet I got a bit worried but they were just chilled out and great travellers. The Silvers I had actually were quite curious about them when I had them floating in their bags and I was surprised that the confidence and activity of the 'school' increased so much with the new additions. They were feeding the next morning and are absolutely killing the pellets. Very tempted to come back and get some more from you before you head out but for my first system, reluctant to push the density too high. Thanks again and if I don't see you before you go, good luck with the move =) |

Great to hear that they travelled and settled in so well. I am currently moving half my system to a mates place. He will take what ever I have left at the end of the week. I'll have to keep up with how they go ... And how tasty the are |
