My Trout run has come to a Slamming Halt.. This Long line of heat has stopped the Tank Trout Experiment.. I lost the Last of my 20+ Trout after having them for over 2+ yr's.. - I thought I was safe.. they survived Last years heat wave we had..The water got no hotter than about 25c But Not this year The water is a Lovely warm Bath water.. Not the Cool bath but a warm bath.. The Temperature jumped about 10c over a 12hr period, what the factor that caused it I'm not sure.. - I have noticed that the water lvl in the sump tank is lower than what it was yesterday morning.. About 1000lt lower.. I am using the ground contact as a method of keeping the water cooler..Don't have a cool pump but the sump is Buried in the ground.. .. I was also Pumping in about 100lt/min of Air thru the system.. So do you have any suggestions of a fish species that I can legally have.. It must be able to Take both the Hot and the Cold.. Juergen |

From what I've read so far on here, Catfish and Silver Perch handle temperature fluctuations quite well, with the former being more tolerant. I think Tandanus Catfish mentioned specifically. I hope it helps, I'm just learning so take what I've said with a grain of salt, lol. |

Not sure which part of Australia you are located but mostly trout are seasonable fish and has to be remove at the end of the season. Pushing it for another season is risky and usually results in losses. Silver Perch are good for the weather in Perth. I do get a random lone fish loss once in a while but not often.
