Post subject:  FREE PERCH FINGERLINGS

Hi Guys,
Long time no post. We are trying to work out what to do with our approx 75 silver perch fingerlings as their pond has to be filled in with dirt re estate agent's orders - if we want to keep our lease.
Is there anyone in the Sydney area who is interested in adopting our perch babies? There are some goldies who would have to go with them as well- about 20.
We would set up a smaller system as we have all the equipment but we just dont have the time or energy to do a good job.
What we really need is someone who is able to come fetch them from our house with suitable transport containers.
They were originally bought from livefish.com , are now between 5-12 cms long and have remained disease free and ridiculously hungry for the few months we have had them.
We do intend to start up again when we are out of remted premises and into our own home in a year or two where we will be free to go ballistic in our own backyard without freaking out the landlord.

Hope to hear from someone ASAP. Sigh...

regards,
Aeon

Aeon, thats so not fair! :( It's miserable when you've put all that work in.

Wish I was closer, I'm sure you'll have no problems finding them a home. :D

Aeon, had problems myself with landlady and real estate agents.....

Blown car water pump, broken wheel bearing (VR Commodore, for those that know), blown up fridge, new tyres/brakes for rego and 3rd party/insurance for a P-plater....... all in a couple of months I'm broke

So I haven't been able to buy my fish, and thought I might as well wait till spring..... I'll happily adopt some of them, say 25....only got a small tank, but might be able to find an IBC.....if so could baby sit more/all

Failing that I'll talk to John over at Jamberoo.... he might be able to loan a small tank for a while.... has 4 x 1500ltr.

I'll PM you Aeon and either do a contra deal for when you get settled or work something out.... I'm only 1-1.5 hours away from you.

Have you tried Gemmel, pah70, purriskat??

thats shitty news.

Any chance of going with rupes idea and have a tank system? 1000lt will be enough, even at 500gms each.

and your set-up was way cool.

Did the agent freak bad?

Yeaah, with all the drama I had getting the "idea" past the landlady, and now to hear what's happening with Aeon... I'm a little nervous myself....

Would hate to actually get fish settled into a system and have to switch it off or move it......

DAMN! I guess I'm the last of the reasonable Landlord's. My renter's wanted a garden, so I mowed off a patch for them with the tractor, I would have even turned it for them with the plow, but I didn't have time. (They used a roto-tiller and did it themselves.)

Sometimes landlords and estate agents are real booger heads, but the main reason is fears about getting sued by someone! (My current insurance company hasn't said anything about the tenants' kids' trampoline, but the last one I had would have had an unholy canniption fit!) I have heard stories about someone getting sued, and loosing, because a drunken trespasser comes onto thier property and gets hurt or of a rapist or murderer sueing a victim because the victim hurt them during the commission of the crime! Let's get real! If you are a criminal or dumb enough to get yourself hurt while in a state of intoxication then you have no grounds for damages! :x

Good luck with getting your fish moved, and your above ground system set up!

Kevin
