Hi Everyone, I have recently moved back to Melbourne to stay with my parents. We have a huge Fishpond in the front Garden that was full of mud and dead leaves. I've spent the past week cleaning it out, and its currently filling with water. Problem: No fish! =) Solution: ???? My parents are both retired and elderly, so I want to get them fish for as cheap as possible. We live in the Moorabbin, Victoria area. I was reading about Feeder Fish and that they are cheap. This sounds like the perfect cheap solution however as we have many people with children walking along the footpath looking at the fish I would also like to provide them with Cheap coloured Goldfish as well. If anyone knows of a good Feeder fish and or Goldfish supplier in the Melbourne Area, I would really appreciate your help. Many Thanks Daniel

Welcome Daniel Wow, there sure was some gunk in there, I bet it stunk pretty bad. You could try at local pet shops for commets and carp etc which are cheap and nice to look at. Will you be incorporating aquaponics into the pond? |

Hi Edgewateraqua, My parents don't have a vege patch so its going to end up either at the Tip or scattered around the plants. Its a waste, all those nutrients.. Regards Daniel |

Hey Daniel watch the water lvl's around the pond in case you have any slow Leak's.. By the Look's it;s an old school concrete pond.. Well and truly aged so not a lot of trouble leaching lime in to the water.. If there is an issue of water leaking you might want to dry out the pond and seal it with a good pond sealer.. If you have to go this route.. make sure you dry it out for about a week and try to stop any weather from getting in.. Juergen.. Psst it does look like a great little pond.. |
