| Post subject: | Stupid Question |
Hi All, This is a really stupid question - but before i got my silver perch fingerlings, i had a couple of your average-joe feeder fish in there. Is it possible these small goldfish/feeder fish could be eating my fingerlings? If so - i may need to try get a yearling in the tank or something to eat him up........ |

Stupid question .... but what is an "average-joe feeder fish"? Have you tried popping a couple of trout in there to sort them out? that should work ! |

What is the size of the "feeder" fish compared to the fingerlings? If the "feeder" fish is much bigger than the fingerlings, and hungry, then it's possible it could be eating the fingerlings I guess. Then again, I don't know much about silvers but there are some types of fish where the small fingerlings will tend to eat each other if there is much size variation and they are not being well fed. |

Not sure about the feeder fish but the SP fingerlings wont hurt anything. Big SP on the other hand will attack smaller fish... see the end of my thread. |

Big silvers will eat big goldfish too. Found this out just recently as 3 fat goldfish just vanished from the tank |
