 Post subject: water temps.

Location: North Carolin U.S.A.
i live in the S.E. Usa will enclosing an aquaponics tank in a small greenhouse keep the water warm enough in the winter for Tilapia or will I need a heater of some kind?

If you are in the moutains/WNC I would think you'd need some additional heat. Not sure aout other areas.

Im in wilmington, nc...

even here I use a little extra heat in the winter..... as temps can get down to 30 degrees....

I try and keep the GH between 45 and 50 degrees.......

last winter I used very little heat as it was a very warm winter..... the year before, my outdoor systems froze over and I used quite a bit of heat in the GH....

what location are you in?

Simply use a Delorean fitted with a flux capacitor and go forward in time to skip winter.
