I watched a show on Netflix today that mentioned Silver Carp as an invasive species in the Mississippi Basin and I was wondering,

Are they the same fish that I keep reading about here as "Silvers"?

Just curious. :?:

Thanks. I was wondering since I know that animals often have different names in different parts of the world and because the same show mentioned renaming a different fish to improve its marketability and the possibility of the commercial fish harvesting people doing the same to these.
