$1-2 per for fingerlings seems to be a standard price... Found some in my area like that. The guy was also selling 2 breeding pairs for $100... I'd buy them for $0.35 right quick! :)

The only thing better than that is free. You may be able to procure them like I did, in the wild. Then again, we do not have alligators in California.

ya the whole gator thing is effecting my spear fishing too. nothing like taking a kill and then a dinosaur comes past your head to eat it. Haven't been in the waters here but that thought is always in my mind they are worse than sharks to me.

Yea, there are great whites in the water here, but they aren't interested in eating people on purpose. I just do my best to not look like a seal. Alligators aren't as picky about what they eat.

I hunted alligators for a few years. They are not agressive at all. I have swam with many and killed a lot more and never had a single issue.

In the Suwanee river leading to the gulf they most dive out of the spot lights the ones to watch are those that don't. I have had my boats rocked more than a few times by "logs in the water".

Btw the lady said I could keep the fish for free because I drove out and caught them up on a rainy day. I flipped her a bit of cash anyway though couldn't just take them without a trade of some sort.
