Tilapia (and probably other fish) will develop flavors in their flesh based on what they have been eating. That's one of the reasons that tilapia have a reputation as a "trash fish". They eat pretty much anything, and can reflect the flavor of it.

You might consider seeing if they'll eat chopped peppers in addition to the seeds. Grow a bunch of jalepenos in the dirt garden this summer and see how it goes! You might have a new market: Pre-seasoned fillets!
