So the mass of the fish will equal the mass of the water. For example (and this is why I love the metric system), one 500g fish will displace 500cc or 0.5L. Forty fish of 500g will displace 20L. |

I ask because I need to know how much water the fish will displace, so I can correct determine how much FT I need, and so I don't overflow my system when the fish are full grown. I'm going to use 2x 50gal grow beds and am looking at a 150gal FT, but wanted to know how much water the fish will displace. I should have more than enough room, but I just like to know. Thanks! |

Yeah, the water the fish displace is really a non issue. You will loose water to evaporation etc faster than the fish will grow to displace the water. Also if you are running the tank so full that u would need to consider this, then you are probably running it way too full, or you are well overstocked for your tank size. |
