First time with trout and new system and wondering if anyone can give me what nitrate levels they can handle, probably around 60 parts at moment. Last summers Barra handled that ammount quite easy but trout?? will organize more grow bed but if too high will drain down water ('bout 50%) and see how it goes.every day above ground is a good day!! |

Nitrates aren't a worry , the overgrown massive plant jungle is more of a problem |

Thanks arbe & Matthew will sleep easy!! this system is new so has just cycled, the old system has small SP in it so nitrates are dropping so could do a water transfer if need be I suppose. The other thing is the trout water is dirty as and by the time I give it some Seasol wont be able to see the fish at all!! |

Lowest nitrate toxicity level I've ever been able to find.... Is 450ppm... for Bluegill...... Don't lose any sleep about it... just plant more plants... |
