I'm fairly sure Ich is a fungus that strikes when the fish are stressed for whatever reason. Just checked, it is a protozoan disease. Have a look here for info about it. Salt is the cure you will have to use. Silvers can handle a fair amount, but start at 3ppt (3kg per 1000L). Dissolve it in a bucket and toss the lot in. Don't add it gradually or the Ich organisms can acclimate to it. You need to stun them into submission with the salt. Treat for about a week. |

Ich is normally brought on by stress, have you tried dosing that one with salt, its become the AP favourite cure-all, increase the salt content to 3ppt. If that tank is 100 litres of water then add 300 grams of salt - if you're not sure, throw up the tank measurements (to water level) Struck down again - Jaymie submitting before me |

what are your water parameters? eg nitrites, nitrates, ammonia. I think high levels of these will cause stress like that? |

What are the other signs that make you think they are stressed F&F? Are they flashing. How long have you had these new fish? |
