Heres my attempt. Sorry, I cant shove my Nikon under water without a cover worth double the camera. I decided to try a vid after already throwing in 2 handfuls of food, so they werent as energetic as normal. I might try again tomorrow morning. Andrew |

Looking good there Werdna Mine werent interested in food with only a couple having a go, so I took some water tests and ammonia and nitrites are up. I was getting slack with the charlie carp and pee in the last couple of months as the plants were growing fine, so looks like I have to cycle again for this load. No feeding vids here for a while |

Mine won't come to the surface for food yet, and prefer not to come to the front of the tank if they can avoid it, even when I drop food in under lid. |

We have many climate zones. If you look at a globe map you will see we have the tropics of Capricorn running through the top 2/3 of the country, a giant desert in our center, and one of the closest land masses to antactica. So it realy depends on where you are. Where I am it is only just cold enough for about 4-5 months to keep trout. Where I am I am growing broccoli, cauliflower, silver beat, broad beans, carrot, spinach (no doing great), potatoes (not in AP), etc. But my self seeded cherry tomatoes are still cracking along faster than everything else, it only takes one frost to wipe them out though. My trout are getting more game/familiar win me. They come most of the way up the water column for food now. They will hit the surface at the back of tank, but not at front unless I clear out. Soon I will have lulled them into a failed sense of security, and they wil live in ignorant bliss for 4 months. |

Who said fish cannot learn? I was ay BYAP the other day where their trout happily swim out in the open regardless of whether there is anyone standing there to watch them. My trout used to hide in the shadows at the back of the FT and would only attack the feed after I was out of sight (I used to stand around the corner of the house so I could hear when they had finished eating) but now they are much more "approachable" (fish added at end of March, but nowhere as near approachable as the BYAP trout which get to see many, many more people). Given enough time and exposure, they obviously get used to (learning?) seeing people above them, and eventually associate people with feed, or at least not as a threat (until that day... harvest time!) Yep, they get used to all sorts of things - my trout are surrounded by our living and dining rooms and the kitchen so they get people walking past all the time. On top of that they're frequently exposed to loud movies and loud music. |

Yeah mine are getting more used to me as well. When I open the lid now they get very active knowing feed is coming and some even jump out of the water. They are smashing the food at a great rate now |
