I pulled some out of my pond and put them in my temporary system because they where free and they are actually doing great. Feeding them is free, because I get minnows from my pond and worms from the ground. Not sure how they will do long term, but will be removing them when I am finished with my system and putting catfish in. |

as long as they and their food are free you'll be fine.. but to grow them out.. they need 10lbs of forage to gain 1lb of body mass.. oh,, purina does make pellets for them.. they are about the size of a charcoal briquette |

Oh figured there was a negative to it. They will be coming out when my system is finished, these where just my test fish, don't care if they die. |
