I was wondering whether other species of fish can coexist with trout in the same tank.. I'm wanting to have my current fish in the same tank with my trout.. Is this possible.. No I won't say what my fish are.. No not the Murray cod they have their own tank.. Juergen |

I wouldn't bother... if the trout think anything else will fit into their mouths... they'll try and eat it.... Otherwise, with the trout being such aggressive feeders... the other fish will be lucky to get any sustanance anyway.... and combined with a lower metabolism due to cold water temps... the other fish will become weakened.... |

Yeah we've found that mixing species can lead to troubles.. Not always, but it's generally easier not to mix them rather than run the risk. |

Yeah I wouldnt put trout with any other fish. But on mixing fish, I have silver perch of two different sizes with some eating size and catfish and bass in one tank. The silvers and cats coexist fine but the bass have not grown at all in 12 months and I am surprised they are still alive. Gonna try netting them out when the cod in the shed aquarium go into the ap and try them on their own. |

The Bass still wont grow much faster.. even on their own... In the wild... a 1-1.5kg Bass... is at least 4-6 years old... |
