I am looking for an interesting crustacean for my aquaponics system. Any ideas?? I would like them to run around and eat the food the fish leave behind. The cooler looking the better :thumbleft:

Malaysian prawns are described as good in the USA by OSU here:

Giant red crayfish (might be the same thing as Australian Red Claw which is interesting) are sold by the pond stocking place where I get my fish. In FLA you might have more options.

EDIT: So wait a minute - red claw crayfish are the same as yabbies?!? I can get some!

yeah, we can get redclaw..but they like warm water.. i've thought about trying them... stick fin farms sells them..(or did,the last time i looked)
i have local crayfish, (papershell) a couple made it from last year, one is pretty good size, but they need lots of room
look for what's local, and provide lots of "hides"
