just want to know if dead silver perch sink or float?
reason for my morbid question is that I put some silver perch in my IBC a few days ago but the water is too murky to see to the bottom as the gravel in a new growbed still has silt through it.
There are no floaters but being the paranoid first time dad I want to make sure there aren;t any dead ones down the bottom

I think they sink originally and after a couple of days they float.

You will also find that Silver Perch like to hide and not be seen. How are your ammonia and nitrite levels?

If you have a dead one your ammonia will spike.

Yep, sink, then float. So long as they don't get caught under a pump or pipework etc..

last time i netted out some trout i didnt see the others for about a week, they hid up the back under the growbed in a shadow so there was no way to see them..... even in clear water...

your perch are prob a bit stressed about their new home... they will come back out soon

Just withstain from sticking ya hands in or stirring up the tank with anything.

How are Water temps?? if there a little cold they will hide also
