Are they superior / inferior to nile or O. aurea in terms of taste?

I have access to mossambica, hornorum, and zilli (haven't heard of that one before) and would like to select the best tasting variety.

Greetings from Botswana
From personal experience, no difference, however my experience has only been with wild tilapia. I assume the same will be true for farm raised.

Haven't tried 'em myself, but have done a lot of academic research on 'em and they're all supposed to be much the same.

Hi. Mossambicas are very good but any tilapia is good to eat for as long as they are healthy and fat. Skinny ones are "yuck ". What matters more is that the flavor of tilapia is highly influenced by what they eat. For example, fish grown in tanks and fed artificially would taste very differently as compared to fish caught from the wild eating natural food.
