0.25 nitrite is probably OK unless your pH is very high. I don't panic unless I hit 1.0 ammonia or nitrite. That's at about 7.0 pH and my personal tolerance for risk.

I'd just hold the amount of food steady unless ammonia/nitrite rises more. If it rises, skip a meal. Don't give in the the begging!

Here is todays readings: 7.03 pH

I'm going to keep feeding once a day lightly. Are these levels looking ok?

Nitrite is the only concern. Ammonia looks like 0 and nitrate won't hurt the fish. Nitrite looks like between 1.0 and 2.0. Do a 20% water change tomorrow to get that back down a little, and maybe skip a feeding. You're half way there.

Todays Test: pH 7.01
Last night I changed about 20% of the water. Today I am not feeding the fish. It looks like my nitrites are between 1 and 2 again. The nitrates seem to continue to climb. I don't know if I am going to change the water tonight because I do not want the fish to get to cold by morning.

I have always found the nitrite-portion of cycling to take a little longer to get through than the ammonia. You could add 1-2ppt salt to ease stress during cycling if you want.

Todays readings(not feed today): pH 7.13

Last night I did a 20% water change and I am going to do another 20% water change today.

I don't like the looks of the ammonia or the nitrite. I'd go 50% water change if you can, and definitely 1-2ppt salt (uniodized) to reduce stress. 1ppt = 1gram per liter.

I think its just the light or angle in the picture on the ammonia. It was yellow.

OK, maybe you should just post the numbers, then.

Hummm.... think the salt addition Janet suggested might be appropriate.

Have you got your plants into any growbeds yet?
