8 more fish gone to the tummy god (4 for our dinner 4 for BIL to feed to friends tomorrow), total weight 2.2 kg's. Biggest 350gms. I can't seem to crack 400 yet.... there are a few whoppers in the tanks, I just can't catch them they are too fast and there's too much water LOL

Can I assume then that doing a batch of barra over the summer is do-able? Would you be able to push the fish harder if the system was cycled and running before the barra arrived?

Yesw to both Nova. Given a cycled system, feed them hard from the start, easy get to plate size within the boundaries of the season.

harvested another 7 fish for total of 1.93 kg's. Biggest one was 380 grams.

I'm working on getting up a few more GBs and a bigger tank to be ready to push the feed into a load of barra and not have to worry about HSM :shock:

Monya has set the standard....hope I can reach the bar also :thumbleft:

if not, then modify :bigsmurf:

steve we ate the 2 upside down fish tonight. They were equally delicious. I paid special attention to any weird gut abnormalities and compared them to fish that were swimming up the right way and there were no differences.
