Turned one of the smaller smoked fish into a dip. One trout, one small onion, a couple of dollops of cream cheese, lemon juice, chives and salt and pepper. Wizzed up and onto crackers, and is good.

Nice work Mantis,
I need some tips on smoking,
I bought some smoked trout from Buxton Trout Farm a few weeks back it was awesome,
we all rated it above Tassell's smoked salmon :) If only I could get results like that :support:
Has anyone used a Bradley Smoker ? Are they worth it ?

Nice work Mantis - I think Nocky put up a smoked trout dip recipe a couple of years back - we had a tasting one night of several different recipes and he put the winner in his thread. I'll have a dig around if I get the time later today.

Nice harvest Matthew - how'd they taste ?

A Bradley is on my wish list for some point in the next few months

Awesome harvest Mathew. I wish I had put a few more in this year. Makes it hard feeding the tiddlers (Silvers) when you have trout this size.

I think my fish had a severe case of obesity. They have been on a diet since and are now more streamlined and less fat in the gut.

Feeding time requires a raincoat though as they compete for the food.

What sort of smoker do you use?

You guys are growing a serious amount of fish!

Another awesome harvest there Matthew.

That smoker looks like a serious piece of gear. You would need a transformer to run it though. It 120v. Until they announce the 240v one that is...

The 240v model is available I believe... and the one the bloke in Robertson had.... was supplied with a 240v transformer pack...

If they are available locally you would assume they are 240v or come with a transformer.

Ill just add it to the 'one day' list...
