DO YOU STILL HAVE ANY BLACK BREAM AVAIBLE as i looking for some , i be in perth on 27 januray 2009

Hi Sorry but we hav got rid of all our Black Bream juveniles. Our broodstock are spawning at the moment and we will do a spawning run next week. We plan to have Black Bream fingerlings and barramundi fingerlings available in September this year.

hi, does anyone know if Tony still sells barra, and if so, for how much and when are they available?

Yeah well you are asking a question on a thread 8 years after the last post....
And as no one has replied to your question then I would assume that no one would know if Tony is still selling barramundi...
Mattyoga is the only person around here that I've seen in the last few years growing barramundi for food and that was in a heated tank in a shed from memory.

No idea who matty oga is but I know there are more people having barra than just him.
Thanks anyway though, I'm sure someone can help me soon anyway.

not really. Barramundi are mostly talked up by new people with very few actually doing it for real and even fewer doing it really successfully away from a full on indoor aquaculture approach. Most experienced people would be going with silver perch or trout etc in Perth due to the temperature requirements and time/effort. Only real option is to contact Fremantle Tafe directly given you live in err.... South Fremantle..., but most of their breeding is fingerlings for commercial consignment and/or re-stocking (eg black bream). I suspect they probably dodge the amateur fish growing in pond fingerling market these days.

The more active Barramundi program is in Broome. But they are of limited scope for back yarders.

Hunt around as they are available in Perth but usually not cheap/over priced.... typical culprits can be found simply using Google.... eg. Barramundi Perth...

There is a few places around Perth that sell barra fingerlings... they aren't particularly cheap. Have a quick google, or if you can't find any, PM me (don't like naming businesses etc on a forum that's most likely direct competition to the people who run the forum!!).
