yeah, opened it for 2 cycles yesterday, so it was like doing a 50% water change

so now they are at 22.5 or so, and although a bit more sedate, they are still feeding hungrily. I will continue to open the valve intermittently to let nutes into the poly tank, until I can leave it open when the temps go up a bit.

First seeds are sprouting (lettuces are doing the best) Also, the first lettuce popped his head htru the gravel overnight, and new leaves are showing on all 4 capsicum plants :D Nitrates at a guess are about 20 - 40 ppm

About an hour after you left C1, I remembered the tap between the 2 tanks was still open  . Temp got down to 21 degs in the barra tank, but they were still okay. Tired, but satisfied, and stoked to get up this morning and look at those vegie beds finished :D

All lettuce seeds have 2 little tiny leaves on them. Criander has white spikes. Basil and oregano sprouted today, and first lettuce or basil poked his head thru the gravel.

Hey? You had a death did you?

I wouldn't worry too much about it, keeping in mind that commercial systems expect up to a 10% loss...

At least it had the decency to wait till you got home... :)

as loyal as dogs, your fish are, they wouldn't even die until their master came home. Muzzas fish just catch a glimpse of him at the edge of the tank and they die from fright. There are many fish-gossip stories wishpered in the depths of the tank, of the infamous muzza the destroyer.

Don't feel bad stu ;)

Muzz fixed that tho - discoloured the water so the fish can't see him any more and expire on him, neutralised the threat :confused4:

Probably credit that to the coco-peat and the water colour Muzz - I've been up checking each morning and haven't registered any deaths yet either from the SP
