Alot died due to being eaten by the fish and yabbies but even when separated, many died due to no apparent reason.

They add little value to a system.

Don't wanna be a pain in the quoit VLT, but still need more info. What did you buy ? Where'd you get 'em.

The ones from Aquablue do say quite clearly that they are for still waters, so the recirc system of an AP setup may not be to their liking.

I think they take on heavy metals. ie when we poison one of river systems or estuaries, I think it's mussels that our overlords first tell us to stop eating. Perhaps they would be useful to remove toxins or something.

Perhaps feed them to interstate guests and international tourists to help remove heavy metals from your local ecosystem?

Just a thought. :oops:

That could also be a reason.

I bought mine from a guy in wagga. They are the same as those sold by aquablue.
