I was thinking of puting them in the too hard basket anyway because it is too cold here. Also you never believe how many tilapia and red fin one trout can eat.I put one in to teach the tilapia and perch to eat pellets but it had other ideas. The perch were nearly as big as the trout.

Are you human?: yes

Any Mossambiques I had at home or at my school have now been killed.

I invite Fisheries department to call me and check.

I did the best I could to be humane.. and to teach my students about the number 1 aquaculture fish.

Death by freezer! Such a shame. :-x :( :( :(

The kids at school learned a lot from looking after Tilapia!

I personally think that in Perth WA discarded goldies and Koi are probably more of threat to our waterways than Tilapia .. who die when it gets too cold!

So what about other mouhbrooders .. electric yellows? Mainganos? They all breed like Mossambiques?

Any ban on Koi ...?

Yeah, kind of crazy isn't it Johnnie. Have they found a live tilapia anywhere around the metro area in a waterway? Yet the goldfish and koi cause all sorts of problems.

A few years back they did find Tilapia in the waterway that goes thru Whiteman Park. I know fisheries spent a bit of time and money trying to eradicate them but not sure if it was successful or not.
