You haven’t named them? How about:

I know I sound like a kid in a lolly shop but isn't that what this is all about? I've just spent the last 10 minutes staring lovingly into my tank, and the fish are cool as. Some have taken up residence in the brick tower, some are swimming around the shady end, about 10 are swimming in the light end, but about a hundred and fifty are huddled in a mass around the pump  There's 1400 litres in there, but ATM I could get away with 100 I reckon. They sure do like to huddle. I hope this isn't a bad sign. It would be a bit embarrasing to have to go back to the hatchery after the biggest kill in BYAP history.
Oh LKB, B247 is my favourite, has lovely markings LOL

I wouldn't worry too much. All fish need time to adjust to their surroundings, change in temperature etc. It is possible that the water near the pum maybe a bit warmer or they like the water movement. The first few hours after getting fish into a tank or pond, you are nervously waiting for them to adjust and start swimming around, I still do it after 6 or so fish tanks over the years.

Thanks Tim, in the back of my mind I know they seem ok, but I still had to turn off the pump to make sure they weren't getting sucked into it (only small opeings, but didn't want them to be stuck there). They seem to be there by choice though! Warmer near the pump is a good thought

So, my 5 year old girl gets home tonight, first thing she says when she walks in: Can I see the fish? So I take her down, lift the lid and turn on the light. What's the first thing she says? Daddy, they look nice, what flavour are they? ROFLMAO Kids say the darndest things

WOW 250!

keep an eye on your levels, that a BIG load change :)

Ich can be identified by distinct white grains on the fish, like a tiny crystasl of fine table salt. Flashing is a sighn of it, but by no means does flashing mean you have ich, high nitrite levels will also cause the fish to flash.

Thanks Steve,

I was driving down there thinking, geez, 200 is probably too many, and then when the guy said, we chucked in a few extras, I thought holy crap, now I'm in trouble.

So far I have tried 2 small pinches of pellets, but they don't seem hungry. I will see if they are tomorrow.

I hope I haven't ballsed up by getting so many, only time will tell, and I will do daily water testing.

ATM, 1400 ltrs water with 50 litres approx of aged aquarium water in it, biofilter is 200 litres perlite in a blue barrel and 20 litres bacteria filled perlite in the 200 ltres of biofilter. Cont. flow dirty water pump, 1500 ltres per hr approx. Biofilter medium been in there for 5 days, no fish though. Ph prior to fish 7.2. Was contemplating getting some shell grit to hang in a stocking under the water return

VB mentioned treating the tankwith salt while they are in isolation, how much should I put into the 1400 litres, and do you use just any old salt or does it need to be seasalt?

Shell grit in a stocking hanging under the water flow return? or at the top of the biofilter medium?

where ever tickles your fancy :)

isolation as a quarantine, or for actual treatment?

1kg per 1000 lt = 1PPT (VB correct me if i'm wrong, i'm a bit tired..............)

dose for ich at 3 PPT minimum

so 4.2 kg

Best done with higher temps to shorten ich life cycle (29C) (31 C will actually kill the ich, but also some fish)
