Oscars are usually $5-10 stateside at the fish store when they're small. 10 gallons aren't enough for any oscar. They are also bad tempered and don't mix with hardly any other tropical fish, other than other big cichlids that will push back and catfish that are too big to fit in their mouth. Everything else gets dead. They also undecorate about anything you put in their tank.
If you are looking for something similar but a little friendlier, you can try severums. Still a big cichlid with some attitude but more tolerant of other fish when there is enough room to go around.

Are you human?: What is human?

I have a friend that had a pair of oscars about 20cm long. He had a number of other fish in the tank but nothing small. The oscars were not very friendly. They would even eat mice!

my favorite fish is a long fin tiger oscar named oscar he loves pats and any attention often has a sad and sits at the bottom if im in the room and not watching him
they like to play the bully, redecorate the tank and will do anything for food making them easy to train to do tricks like roll over
when oscar was smaller i would use guppies as a training treat
