Hi Spunyata.

If you want to be a bit sporting, you could chuck some bits of bread out when you go past. They will get used to eating it. Then come back one day with bread as bait. A light rod and a float. The float will give the line a bit of weight so it can be cast out. just place the hook about 30 cm under the float. Don't use any lead. You'll need a container to put them in and an air pump to keep them alive. I use a 200L barrel in the back of my van but a big esky could do. I transport the goldfish, between the pond and van, in a bucket.

If you are not sporting... get yourself a throw net, and practice throwing the thing before you venture out. :)

Or, if you are a bit mad, you could take up fly fishing. :lol:
