As we approach the end of summer i have started to think about trout for winter. This will be my first crack at trout so im trying to get as much info as possible.

When do most people in Perth swap over to Trout? and when buying trout what size/price should i be looking for?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Will,
Keep an eye on the weather and your water temp. (I'd be thinking April.) Trout do not like water above 23 degrees. They are fast growing and fun so don't worry about the size, they grow quick. As long as they are big enough not to be sucked into the pump 8-10cm roughly.
Also remember to cover your fish tank with bird net as they are inclined to leap from the water and end up flapping on the ground.

Well this question is rather related to my barra question I suppose... So April (next month) is the approx. month when barra "jumps out" and trout "jumps in"....

I love trout because thay are such a hungry fish. Make any other fish look boring although my Barra have been eager for food lately but boring for much of the time.

That's certainly his intention - will be good to have that sort of facility over here.

Hi,

I would like to get Approx 30 Trout. Problem being I live in Geraldton can only get to Perth on Monday 2nd May. I believe trout are being delivered mid week so I will miss the prior weeks delivery.

Would anyone be interested in taking delivery of the trout earlier an keeping them for me until 2nd May. I'd be prepared to By you some trout/fish food for your efforts.

Thanks

Paul

Hey Paul, the other option might be to try Golden ponds when you come down to Perth, they may have trout available.
