You could make and install more growbed capacity as your fish are growing Bkaus..... but regardless... as Janet says I'd suggest starting with half that number of fish... i.e. 100 fish max

After your first successful season and a few great BBQ's then you could think about being more ambitious

I only have 30 now and plan on waiting untill they breed. I may grab some goldfish if it gets to cold and bring the Tilapia in for a few months. :|

Dan,
One thing to remember is that you have a longer growing season in texas thus a shorter winter. (unless you are in the panhandle) You can handle a lot of little fish in your system even indoors because it is a pound to gallon ratio not a number of fish. Once they are stressing the limits of your ratio, then move them outside for grow out. I myself would not do an all out at the same time system because each year you would go through the cycling process and your system would never really mature.

It really does seem that keeping a system going would be best. It keeps the number of fish I raise at once down.
