We have a few trout "farms" here in my home state. Most of them use natural springs as the source of the water, and then run it through a series of ponds, not unlike the raceways. They have year round production because most of the springs have a large enough flow to never freeze over. Due to the depth that the water comes from most of the springs are very cold, which is why they are able to raise trout here in the summer. Otherwise the water temps would be too high for the fish in July and August.

Steve, are you and BB going to go back with the wheelie bin in the middle of the night? :)
