Thanks Urrazeb. Mine seems to have survived a week in the AP now.
Never used it before so will be interesting when it is big enough to start harvesting from.
What do you use it for? Have you used it in any liqueurs as a sweetener?

Hey Rob yeah I have soaked it in 95% and made a sweet tincture out of it, good replacement for sugar syrup.

Mostly the kids keep it trimmed and anyone who visits always has a leaf and is blown away at the sweetness.

It is in flower now so hoping to get some seeds from it :thumbright:

I thought mine was dead, but it came back from the seeds from last year. maybe it's an annual? I haven't tried putting it in the AP yet, but it's doing well in dirt.

I just got a delivery of stevia from an organics mob in Byron..
I was expecting a fine white powder , but received a pale green powder.... it was powdered leaves, and not very nice as far as sweetness goes..

My suspicion is that you would have to grow a lot , a real lot, to get a useable sugar equivalent..

I have taken to growing Hoan Ngoc .. now that seems to be something that is good for general health..
..

It's actually said to be 40 times sweeter than sugar. And when you take into account that white sugar is a heavily processed and singled out refined industrial product it's a far better option.

The taste is very sweet when fresh but there is also a bitterness that goes with it too.

My plant is in full bloom now and starting to brown off at the base so I think it's on it's last legs but we'll see how she goes :)
