looking for something diferent to go into one of my empty tanks when the trout come out, I know i can get Tandanus from pet/aquarium shops but for $25+ in not all that keen, has anyone in perth kept them and where did you get them? Ausyfish are out of stock at the moment but their site says max order of two along with minimum order af SP + $75 for delivery to Perth.

Any info of help apreciated.

Yep, local fish shops seems to be the go, we had a couple down at the shop we bought from an aquarium shop, I think they were 15-18 bucks each..

Theoretically you can't bring them in from over east without approvals, but that's a whole other discussion

I got three small (2") ones from the local city farmers on the way home, paid pet prices but willing to to give them a shot. still cost less than the $75 dollars delivery.

I was hunting around for some as well, and came up with nothing.

They will breed in dams. They make a 'nest' in the gravel during summer and guard the eggs.

Find someone with a dam that has catties and run a fine net through the weed to catch the fingerlings.
