You can get them at Veba's in O'conner but they are not allowed to sell them to you for AP or ponds, only home aquariums.I won't comment any more you can work it out for youselves.

Can any one tell me their growth rate, how long to 500 grams and what length are they at that weight?
What is the best size for eating, would like to have some in my second sump next summer if possible. Cheers

A friend of mine had one in a fish tank.
It took 2 years to get to around 40cm.

Does that help any?

Mine are over two years old and about 40cm at biggest, but they have been in a tank with a lot of large silver perch

Have had cat fish off and on for a few years. They are great to eat, just be careful of the spines. They grow to a good size in about 2 years. Don't get them if your water drops below 12Deg. they get fungus real bad because of their scale less skin and die!!!! I have had some make it through winter with heaps of salt but its just not worth it.

We have two in a balcony system. They are and will always be pets. I like their little faces. Slow growing and about 25cm after more than 2 years. They probably are a bit like me and don't like our cold wet winters.
