Well i went to get all the frogs out of the system yesterday afternoon for my young fella wanting to make a frog pond further down the backyard and doing so stirred up the bottom - obvious causing two problems, one stressing the fish out and two clogging the pump up bugger hey........

What was on the bottom if the tank that you stirred up? Uneaten food, fish waste?

Have you tested your water? You may have triggered an ammonia spike and may need to watch fit a nitrite spike.

Yeah, might want to be sure that the same problems can't happen again before getting more fish...

There was alot of muck on the bottom of tank , as you said might of spiked them with amm.

what can be done with the muck - need something like a vacuum to suck up any extra waste ....

What is causing the muck? If its uneaten food - feed less. If its fish waste, feeding less will help, but maybe look at the position of your pump or SLO to make sure it is removing solids from your tank.

You should never have muck on the bottom of the tank. This is most probably what killed the fish, and nothe pump stopping. Can you post pics of your fish tank setup so we can see what needs fixing

Well it's a square stell tank with a liner in it.
I've been hold today to buy a round tank and place pump in the middle of the tank.
Will see if I can post pics. I have been looking for a new tank for a while so this will get me hunting even harder , going to landmark in the morning to buy 1500 ltr tank

bunson recommended a pond sucker:

viewtopic.php?f=1&t=13892&p=352772&hilit=pond+sucker#p352772

I've used it and it really works.

However I also lost some SP after clearing plants out of the GB. I'm considering cutting the stalks off the plants and leaving the roots in situ for the worms to break down.
