Hey guys

I'm a newbie to marron and have seen mentions of blue and the standard black marron.
Are there any major differences between the 2 besides colour?
ie. are blue marron easier/hardier to look after than black marron?
I'm thinking of getting a few to trial and haven't decided which one to get.

Cheers
Dan

Opportune thread to ask... what are the temperature ranges for the two Marron... do they vary?

From what I know there are actually 4 different strains of Marron and the Blues will be the first to die if conditions are not right. I have never eaten a Blue myself but have heard that their texture isnt as good as the Black or Brown Marron so chefs wont use them.

As far as temps go Marron will have maximum growth at 24C, no growth below 12.5C and will start dying at 30C.
