Yes they are TINY.... about 2-3cm in length... not sure what barra fingerlings look like when they are not stressed, but these were like small angel fishes... black and white stripes all over the body... In fact, I thought they were angel fishes to start with until I read the tank label...

... told ya that Barra stock would be available in WA this week.... 20-30mm...

They will need to be graded at around 40mm.... and again around 80mm...

At $75 per 100 why not buy 150 and not stress about grading which is really hard without a good grading box, at least the 100 that you are left with will be that much bigger with the extra feed

Well the question is will barra at this size reach a good plate size within 5 months??? Assuming cold weather
starts sometime in Apr in Perth???

How long is a piece of string... or in this case... how big is "plate size"....

Restaurant plate size.... 400gm....

At That Size aren't they very sensitive to shock, ie Temp etc.
Would they be best kept in an aquariuma at 28c for a few weeks until things heat up?

Tiny currently means under an inch, you would be lucky to get them to any respectable plate size by end of season, they have other sizes as well, but be prepared to pay

I called them yesterday as well. They said 2 to 3 cm in length. They also had around 20 400g-500g available at the time but hit and miss as to whether they would when I actually make it down there. We still have the trout hanging in there and have been eating them slowly. Being our first batch of fish they are still small but we really need to move on to a summer lot soon...
