I think I mentioned elsewhere, I got picked up for carting Marron  but a friendly caution, they were got from mates dam 10k's out of town, I was told that it was quite legal to catch and eat them on the farm at anytime of year but a license was required to transport them, it was in season that I got pulled up, not hard to prove they didn't come from a public waterway or would have been big dollars, but I was surprised that the marron were farmed (not commercial) and still needed a permit to take them for a little drive

it seems to me the approval may be attached to an aquaculture licence so the licencee doesn't need to apply for translocation approval for each instance.

Unfortunately this isnt the case. I have to get translocation approval each year and notify fisheries each time I want to move fish onto the property. I was told that if I then sell fish to someone it is then their responsibility to have translocation approval.

Be interesting to see how you go with council OBO, I have never heard of a pest control zoning though. I think you will find you are zoned either urban or commercial or something to that effect.

You were lucky Nocky, they hand out some Big fines for moving marron, I say you may have been saved as it was in season.

Yes Gav I realize I saved a few thousand $$$'s, but not stupidity, just no way thought it was illegal to move them from a private dam, fortunately they were after a big illegal poacher they had been tipped about and pulled me up coming from farm gate, they were after info on strange activity and vehicles and were (for rangers) quite helpful and let me go on my way
