Is anyone using grass (also called ghost or glass) shrimp in their raft tanks to clean up detritus and add more nutrients?

I'm looking into using Asellus aquaticus (water lice) for cleaning solid trapping filter media in a raft system. Some people have had great results using them in koi ponds.

Generally, the idea of using bugs, shrimp etc to clean up detritus is really interesting and sounds like it has lots of potential.
