This past winter while i started my seedlings, i began learning up on aquaponics, and threw a small system together in my workshop with an aquarium of goldfish, and a few totes. The goldies have doubled in size, and the radish crop exploded with foliage, but the roots were thinner than a pencil. Still more to learn, but time to upgrade in size outdoors, the warmer weather is finally here.

Starting with a 200 gallon FT, a little bit redneck, but hey 750 liters will hold quite a few fish right?

Just got the tank in today with tap water, so it can sit and gas off for a while. That will give me time to figure out grow bed placement, sump placement, rain water catchment and delivery system, and other things i pick up from reading all about everyone elses systems. And i plan on taking pictures all along the way, cause i love lots of pics, so i better practice what i preach.

I didnt realize lowes would carry pond liners but they do, and this small one was only $33 USD. cheaper than all the goops, primers and paints i was planning on doing to the inside of the fridge. fit almost perfectly, small amount to trim off.

hindsight, when the fiberglass innards came out of the fridge, the whole box had a good inch of styrofoam formed on the inside, kind of like the doors in the above pics. I could have left that in there. Oh well on the next one..

*goes off to look for broken down fridges*

i think i came up with a cool auto drain, ill post a video of the prototype in action soon, maybe you guys can help refine it.
