Link to my planned new system. Pipe work ommitted ( too hard) but plan to run off one pump int the sump, continuous flow with overflow from drain on bottom of tank.

How bout some more explanation? I see two beds that look like they are on stands. I see something that looks like it might be a bed on the ground? I see a stand with nothing on it and I see a tank off to the side?

How big are the different elements?
So will you be using siphons to drain the two beds? Where is the sump? and Where will the fish tank be?

ah yes the detail....after messing round for an hour trying to put the tank on the stand (would've been much easier in real life) I lacked the enthusiasm when posting to include a thorough explanation.

The tank (2000L) will be on the stand on the paved area (undercover). Water will pump from the sump (the L shaped box running around two sides of the sketch). The tank drains from the bottom which is tapered at 5deg. through a 'sideways s shaped pipe' (not sure of the correct term) into the main large grow bed which has a capacity of just over 1200L. From this grow bed the overflow (what doesn't drain from the bottom of the GB through the standard siphon) is drained from numerous horizontal siphons set about 50mm below top level of media into second GB Just over 800L which drains again into the sump to complete the continuous cycle.

Please let me know all the reasons it wont work...construction starts thursday.

Fell off a ladder wednesday morning, twisted by back nicely, haven't even been able to finish my job let alone make a start out the back unfortunately. Thought I might post a few pics of my current little system, has only been cycling about a month now, before it is dismantled to make way for the new system.
